Located in the Kilimanjaro National Park in Tanzania, this majestic mountain is a favorite destination for mountaineering enthusiasts from around the world. With its towering height, it ranks as the fourth tallest mountain globally.

At Akam Al Jazeera, we are delighted to announce Trip to the summit of Kilimanjaro, scheduled from Thursday, December 26, 2024, to Thursday, January 2, 2025. During this week-long adventure, we will guide our guests through an unforgettable journey to explore this legendary mountain and the stunning surrounding reserve, while achieving this remarkable global milestone

Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the hotel.
After checking into your room and resting, you can take a light walk in the city to buy any necessary supplies

DAY 2

Early wake-up (time to be determined during the trip), breakfast, then head to the starting point (Marangu Gate) at an altitude of 1,879 meters. The trek will last 6-7 hours, covering 8 km to reach (Mandara Hut) at 2,740 meters

DAY 3

Trek to (Horombo Hut) at 3,720 meters. Walking time: 4-6 hours, distance: 11 km

DAY 4

Trek to (Kibo Hut) at 4,700 meters. Walking time: 4-5 hours, crossing the Alpine desert, covering 9 km

DAY 5

Night climb to the summit (5,895 meters), then descend to (Horombo Hut) at 3,700 meters. Total distance: 10 km, estimated time: 8-10 hours

DAY 6

Descend to (Marangu Gate) at 1,720 meters, covering 19 km. Estimated time: 6-8 hours, then return to the hotel

DAY 7

Departure, filled with beautiful memories and a sense of accomplishment

Price Includes

  • Transportation including reception at the airport (Kilimanjaro Airport) and transportation within Tanzania to the starting point of the climb.
  • Accommodation for two nights in a hotel (ALTEZZA LODGE) or a hotel of the same level in a city before the Kilimanjaro trip a day and after the trip a day with breakfast only.
  • Dwelling in the mountains will be in huts.
  • Subsistence during the trip while climbing the mountain: breakfast, lunch, dinner—healthy and nutritious food.
  • Tourist guides (experienced leaders) while climbing the mountain.
  • A group of professional porters to carry excess baggage, as well as professional chefs to prepare meals in the mountain.
  • Government fees for entering the reserve.
  • Rescue expenses for emergency cases (with the availability of a department for safety and crisis management).
  • Dining tables and chairs.
  • Pure and clean drinking water.
  • Portable toilets.

Price Excludes

  • It does not include international tickets to Kilimanjaro Airport and back.
  • It does not include the Tanzanian visa, which amounts to 50 US dollars or more (it can be obtained upon arrival for Saudis). For non-Saudis, we need to verify the visa acquisition process.
  • It does not include the costs of short or long safari trips after climbing (for those who wish to arrange a safari trip independently of our trip; it has separate costs).
  • It is customary to reward the accompanying team. Each guest pays a tip of 100 dollars to the Tanzanian porters, chefs, and leaders. We will collect these sums and distribute them in front of the guests at the Kilimanjaro farewell party.

Important instructions

Clothing and equipment

(1) A wool cap to cover the head

(2) A veil and a scarf for the neck

(3) Pajamas (thermal), preferably a good type, number 1

(4) Underwear made of polyester (3 boxers + 2 inner underpants) intended for body protection. Cotton clothes are not suitable for use at all.

(5) Jacket with attached hood and rain pants

(6) A jacket made of goose feathers for extra warmth

(7) woolen undershirt for bedtime

(8) Pajamas, woolen or cotton, to be worn at bedtime only

(9) Sports shoes for hiking waterproof, with a neck that is larger than the normal size by half a tiger

(10) Warm slippers for use during the night to go out for use in the camp

(11) Good quality socks, suitable for hiking, no less than 3

(12) Long-sleeved outer shirt or long-sleeved undershirt, 2

(13) Outdoor hiking pants of no less than 2

(14) Sunscreen, preferably a 100% protection type.

(15) Multiple (international) chips for mobile charging and others

(16) Hiking stick (as desired), preferably a pair

(18) Backpack with rain cover

(20) duflle bag

(21) A wool glove and another glove to protect against the cold to be worn over the wool glove

(22) A warm sleeping bag (preferably made of goose feathers) + feeding felt under the sleeping bag

(23) Wet wipes for hygiene and toilet paper

(24) The head lamp is preferable to the type with dry batteries, taking a spare amount of batteries

Essential Guidelines for Your International Journey

 

This is an international trip and we remind you, dear guest, of important things:

(1) Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months at the start of the trip

(2) Make sure you have all your belongings and supplies ready and try to take the necessary ones only to make it easier for you to carry your bag during international and domestic travel

(3) Make sure to take the hiking supplies, clothes and shoes appropriate for that, and in case there is any inquiry about it, do not hesitate to contact us

(4) Due to the high altitude, you need winter clothes to protect from the cold (details of clothes and equipment in the next paragraph)

(5) Do not forget your mobile phone _ portable charger _ light camera to document the important moments of the trip

(6) The Tanzanian government strictly forbids single-use plastics, such as plastic bags or water bottles, and it must be cautioned not to bring any kind of that

The advance payment serves as a confirmation of the subscription, and any pre-paid amount is non-refundable unless the trip is canceled by us or a replacement participant is found
